https://www.ratiobyalfajoe.com/ (the “Site”) is maintained and operated by aLfaJoe Bakery & Confectionery (“we”, “us”), trading as Ratio by aLfaJoe. By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Country of domicile and governing law
The United Arab Emirates is our country of domicile. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Any purchase, dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the Site will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.
Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older to register an account or place an order. Customers who are minors (under the age of 18) shall not register as a user of this website and shall not transact on or use it.
- We will not trade with or provide any services to OFAC-sanctioned countries or persons, or to any country or person under sanctions applicable in the United Arab Emirates.
Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your phone number by WhatsApp. You are responsible for keeping your account confidential, including your phone and the codes sent to it, and for all orders placed through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
Orders and prices
- All prices are shown and charged in UAE Dirhams (AED). VAT, where it applies, is added at checkout. The total, including VAT, any delivery fee and any discount, is shown before you place the order.
- An order is accepted when you receive its confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order — for example if an item is unavailable, the address is outside our delivery area, or a price was shown in error — and will refund anything you have paid in full.
- Menu items, prices and promotions may change without notice. A change never affects an order that has already been confirmed.
Payment
We accept cash on delivery and, where offered at checkout, payment by Visa, Mastercard or American Express debit and credit cards in AED, including through Apple Pay and Google Pay. Card payments are made on the secure payment page of our payment provider, Telr; we never see or store your card details.
Each order is charged separately, so multiple orders may result in multiple postings to your card’s monthly statement.
The price and currency displayed at checkout are the same price and currency printed on your transaction receipt. The amount charged to your card will be shown on your statement in your card’s currency, which may differ from AED if your card is issued in another currency.
As the cardholder, you should keep a copy of your transaction records and of our policies and rules, including these terms, and check your records against your card statement.
Payment confirmation
- Paying by card: as soon as the payment is approved you are returned from the payment page to our order confirmation page, which shows your order number and estimated delivery time. If the payment is declined or cancelled, that page tells you so, no order is placed and nothing is charged.
- Paying cash on delivery: the order confirmation page appears as soon as you place the order, and you pay our driver when it arrives.
- Either way, within a few minutes of the order being placed we also send a confirmation by WhatsApp to the phone number on your account, with your order number, the items you ordered, the total and a link to track the order. Your orders are also listed under Orders in your account.
- If you paid by card and did not see a confirmation, please do not pay again: check Orders in your account or contact us first.
Delivery, refunds and cancellations
How we deliver is set out in our Delivery Policy, and when you can cancel an order or get a refund in our Refund, Return & Cancellation Policy. Both form part of these terms.
Allergens
Our food is prepared in a kitchen that handles common allergens, including gluten, dairy, eggs and nuts. If you have an allergy, contact us before ordering; we cannot guarantee any item is free from allergens.
Website content
Everything on this website, including text, photographs, logos and designs, belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without our written permission.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under UAE consumer protection law. Otherwise, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to an order is the one published when it was placed, so please check this page each time you order.
